Sam Rose

Discussion en anglais
Welcome on Crao Wiki Sam. May be we could invite people to talk you in english. Grand Breton is currently difficult here, but hopefully we could feel that french people would be interested to translate your writings. We shoud keep concentrated on improving Video Bridge? and Wiki Ting exchanges. Feel at ease to develop Wiki Venture, Peer Invest and Communiting ideas here ! Sure you will be able to find out a first audience in our french micro-community -- Christophe Ducamp
Thank you Christophe. It's great to be here, and great to meet all of these talented and brilliant people.
Videobridge and Wikiting...I think that some people want a free-for-all, while some want a structured meeting that follows some points of order and accomplishes decision making. it seems that both are needed. So, I suggest that , that possibly, depending on the nature of the project that the meeting is for, that some time be devoted to structured meeting, where there are points of order discussed. perhaps this strucutured part could even follow some simplified version of
Robert's Rules of Order, or some other system?
Then either before or after, there could be an open brainstorming/jam session. What do you think about that? Just an idea/suggestion.
I will certainly continue to develop our ideas here. I'll also start blogging about them on smartmobs.com and blog.p2pfoundation.net when and if we feel like we want some general publicity. -- Sam Rose
Hé Sam, that's very cool to write on the Wiki Net ! Agree on the fact we should find in the future better ways for our Video Bridge?. I would be really interested to implement your suggestion.
Gathering our distributed conversations on the Wiki Net could be the first goal to achieve for our small Bar Camp Bank project.
Let's say I'm just an enthusiast amateur and have not any skills in reputation or decision-process/systems.
On Crao Wiki, we have only used and followed the community-consensus.
Therefore, I'd really be curious to move forward on the Wiki Net project. Agree with you on privacy objectives. We talk here about gradient d'intimités as we have learned from Helmut Leitner (Christopher Alexander's fan !).
In the Wiki Now?, my suggestions could be (in a
think talk act attempt :
- Arnaud Fontaine could perhaps help us to implement a condorcet voting system (hé arnaud !) even if we know all that our GodKing is quite lazy here grins
- Invite Ori Pekelman? to open a personal page and join our wikinet-community (tu as un Appel Wiki Ori !)
- Test the Règles De Robert process (robert's rules in french) even if I don't know anybody able to implement that for a decision process.
I already have some pieces of code (written in Python) implementing Condorcet. --Arnaud Fontaine
Sam, how about discussing/brainstorming on a page like Structured Meeting.
For the moment I still love this form of easy mix we could offer to newbies :
- the Flash Meeting process : nice
RightToSpeakObject and some motion features (never really tested) - Asynchronous construction on wiki-pages.
The real-time-wiki-board will arrive soon for all. Wiki Ting is really good for consensus. Think it's time to imagine Structured Meeting (with some Micro Formats ?) for our future Bar Camp Bank Governance? ! -- Christophe Ducamp
Règles De Robert is of course only a suggestion for structuring teleconference/video conference meetings, and only for the parts where the goal is to progress on group decision making. I am totally open to using some type of structure for Video bridge conferences besides Règles De Robert. we can create our own structure for instance. Also, I think it is important to open the meeting up and have unstructured/jam session free for all time, too. So, I like your idea of Flashmeeting process and asynch construction on wiki pages. I like the idea of
RightToSpeakObject and motion features, and maybe we should start out with that framework, instead of Règles De Robert? For Videobridge,
RightToSpeakObject is easy, as Flashmeeting only allows turn taking. But, I think we should figure out structured part where we follow an agenda that we co-create ahead of time on a wiki, followed by a free/open discussion, for instance. it would be fantastic if Arnaud Fontaine helped create a condorcet voting system.
I have never actually participated in the [Wiki Tings?|
http://communitywiki.org/en/WikiTing} that have been taking place on Community Wiki, althoughI understand the concept. I think this is an area where we can invite Mattis Manzel in to help organize and get that up and running for our group of people.
I am of course all for creating a Wiki Net. We could create the Wiki Net ON the the Bar Camp wiki, if you'd like? They are not difficult to set up. Or, we could create it on an Odd Wiki, which would probably actually be better, as we could eventually set up an Odd Wiki hive for the whole project, if people are interested in that -- Sam Rose
